Named after the local historic attraction, Bothwell Castle, our residential care home is positioned in between the small town of Uddingston and the conservation village of Bothwell. Bothwell Castle is one of Scotland’s finest medieval castles and really highlights the rich culture and history that the area has to offer. We are also surrounded by a plethora of green spaces such as Wooddean Park and Strathclyde Country Park, which make for a great opportunity to get out for a walk, enjoy some fresh air and take part in many activities and events which might be going on.

Also, just a short distance from our care home are village shops, restaurants and cafes within the local community. Appealing to a wide range of people, we are located perfectly for that day trip out shopping or socialising with fellow residents and loved ones over lunch or coffee. Our Activities Team goes to great lengths to ensure that our residents make the most of the beautiful surroundings we are so lucky to have here at Bothwell Castle Care Home. Whether it’s for an excursion into the cultural hub that is Glasgow or just a personal trip, our residents have access to a minibus and private car for all their transport needs.

Our friendly and professional team have extensive and varied backgrounds in care and support, and are committed to being there for you and your family members every step of the way to help determine whether this is the right path for you. Prior to moving into our care home, residents and their relatives can expect a consultation with the Home Manager and wider team to get to know each resident and those closest to them on a personal level.

By doing this, it helps us to not only foster strong relationships but also helps to customise a care plan for each resident that meets their specific medical needs as well as their interests. At Bothwell Castle Care Home, we aim to exceed all expectations in both the care services we provide and our facilities and amenities. As a result, our home boasts luxury en-suite rooms, private dining rooms, secure gardens, a cinema room and so much more, all of which we encourage our residents and their loved ones to take full advantage of. Our home is also proud to be regulated by the Care Inspectorate which is an independent body that assesses all health and social care services in Scotland. The Care Quality Commission does the same thing for care homes in England. Receiving regular inspections ensures that we are meeting the right standards of social care at our facility. As a result, residents and their families can guarantee that we work hard to ensure we are providing only the highest quality in everything that we do.

Residential Care

Residential care is a long-term care option is for those who can live independently for the most part but may require a little additional support with day-to-day tasks that they may struggle with at home on their own. It’s also ideal for older people who may be feeling lonely and seeking companionship or new hobbies.

Through a combination of one to one care, in-house facilities, and activities, we can provide residents with a luxury and homely environment where all their care needs are fully met. We support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity, whilst reassuring them that no matter how much assistance they need, we are there for them day and night.

Respite Care

Respite care is provided to residents for a number of reasons. It is most commonly given to those who require short term support after being treated for an illness or have had an operation and need help getting back on their feet. It is also an ideal alternative for caregivers who may require some time to themself.

Residents who need short term care have different requirements for length and stay, and this can be from a few days to several months. Our aim for those who need this type of care is to help them with their recovery or recuperation, by offering them around-the-clock care and access to our exceptional facilities. It is also a great chance for socialising and experiencing the benefits of a care home.
