Dining at Bothwell Castle Care Home is something we really like to shout about; we’re proud to be able to serve our residents high-quality meals and provide eating experiences they’ll never want to forget. We recognise how big of a part having a great dining experience plays in making sure our residents are as happy as they can be, and our on-site chefs and catering teams constantly provide a variety of meals that achieve just that.

The older we get, the more important it is that we’re feeding our bodies with the right nutrients we need to keep us healthy and fighting fit. That’s why at Bothwell Castle Care Home, all of our meals have been designed and put together with our residents’ wellbeing at the heart and soul of them. Our delicious meals, paired with our stunning dining facilities, make for the perfect dining experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Quality, Nutritious Food for You

It’s a well-known fact that sharing meals with one another is a surefire way to bring you closer together. We recognise this at Bothwell Castle Care Home, and actively encourage all of our residents to embrace all the good things that group living has to offer. We treasure the time we get to spend with our residents during mealtimes, as it gives us the chance to really connect with them.

However, if for whatever reason one of our residents would prefer to not participate in the group dining experience, it isn’t mandatory for them to take part. If it would make them more comfortable, they are more than welcome to eat in the comfort and privacy of their own room. Assistance will always be provided to those residents who need it here, and if any of our residents struggle with certain aspects of eating by themselves, a member of our dedicated team will be more than happy to lend a helping hand.

A friend of our residents is a friend of ours, and at Bothwell Castle Care Home, any friend is more than welcome to dine with us. Whether they’d like to join us in one of our communal dining areas, our on-site tea room, or even if they’d prefer to enjoy their meals in private, just know that each and every one of our guests is an honorary member of our family.

However, at Bothwell Castle Care Home, we really want to assure our residents, their friends and their family members, that we do everything we can to make sure our residents are supported and well taken care of.

We believe that paying attention to detail and curating a dining space that promotes a calming atmosphere are key to creating the perfect dining experience for our residents living with dementia. All of our dining areas are spacious, and have specialised cutlery and crockery to help our residents maintain a high level of independence, no matter what. It’s the little things that really go a long way, and it’s important to us that we can create an environment where our residents feel safe and confident.

Our dedicated chef and kitchen team receive ongoing training in order to serve nutritious and appetising meals to residents. They work closely with our residents and pay great attention to their preferences in order to make delicious meals that everyone enjoys.

Residents can choose from a variety of places to dine in including our communal dining rooms, private dining room, personal bedrooms, and if the weather permits, outside in our garden.

Yes, you will have complete control over what you eat during each meal, choosing from a menu. You can chat with our kitchen staff to see what alternatives they can offer in some cases. Our chef will be pleased to discuss any special dietary requirements or menu changes with you.
