Things to do in Glasgow

Appropriately named after the nearby historic attraction of Bothwell Castle, our home is nestled in a residential area between Uddingston and Bothwell, right on the outskirts of Glasgow. We are conveniently located where residents have access to local amenities such as supermarkets, eateries, and transport links. The area around our home is steeped in history. With other tourist attractions such as Glasgow Cathedral and The Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel just over a 20-minute drive away, it is the perfect place for those who are keen to learn about the rich culture and past of Glasgow.

Our care home is located 25 minutes away from Glasgow City Centre, and whilst residents have access to our homes minibus and private car for both group outings and personal errands, we have excellent public transport links nearby for visiting loved ones. Glasgow offers an array of things to see and do for all ages and interests. For leisurely days out, the Glasgow Botanic Gardens offers the chance to admire exotic flowers, walk the expansive grounds, and enjoy a bite to eat by the river. If you fancy lunch followed by an afternoon shopping and watching street entertainment, then Buchanan Street offers this in abundance.

There is also plenty for residents to do in the comfort of their own home, as we offer a variety of high-end facilities for our residents to use, as well as an activities programme to get involved in. It is highly important to us that we provide residents with an environment that supports overall wellbeing and where continuing with hobbies, pursuing new interests, and making friends are encouraged. We promote independence whilst making sure our residents know that we are on hand whenever they need us. We like to ensure that residents feel comfortable welcoming loved ones and take full advantage of our facilities such as the Cinema Room and Private Gardens

We understand that the process of deciding whether to move yourself or a loved one into a care home can be extremely challenging. Our care team is highly qualified and has extensive and varied backgrounds across both elderly and specialist care. Every single member of our team is dedicated to helping residents and their families on every step of their journey. Prior to moving into our care home, we welcome prospective residents and loved ones to join our Home Manager for a consultation and the chance to get to know them better. During this time we can help answer any questions and also offer advice on what we believe is the best path for them and their family.

Once a resident joins us at Bothwell Castle Care Home, we continue to develop that relationship with them and their family by providing consistent updates and welcoming them to join in any activities or events at the home. In terms of care, we also create a bespoke care plan for each resident, taking into consideration their individual medical requirements as well as their personal needs. This not only helps us to foster strong relationships with our residents but also provides an environment where each and every resident’s medical, emotional and social needs are satisfied. We aim to provide only the highest standard in everything we do and are proud to be regulated by the Care Inspectorate.

Residential Care

At our Glasgow Care Home, we offer residential care which is ideal for those who can mostly live independently but who may require additional support with day-to-day tasks or benefit from the companionship and hobbies that comes with group living.

We support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity, and each of our residents is given their own en-suite bedroom for comfortable living. Our team are available to assist our residents as little or as much as they need, and with a combination of care, facilities, and activities, we can ensure the needs of our residents are successfully met.
