February Begins Our Fun Fridays

Fun Fridays at Bothwell Castle began this month, a new initiative that we have started that brings both staff and residents together for some fun and the opportunity to make new memories.

The residents have thoroughly enjoyed our Friday activities over the last couple of weeks, which have included visits to the hairdresser to help residents look their best, an outing to the Chapter house which is a local café connected to the church, and also residents vs staff tabletop game competitions. Play your cards right has been a firm favourite amongst residents!

Other residents have enjoyed the time relaxing in the sensory room which has different visual, smell, and touch sensory experiences, and some of our green-fingered residents have taken part in flower-arranging sessions.

Every second Friday, we finish our day with entertainment and Prosecco in the reception area, where we have a Prosecco cart set up and residents gather. We invite a variety of entertainers into the home which is very well-received by the residents.

One of our regular performers Charlie visits often with his guitar and has lovely interactions with the residents. Charlie will sing individual songs and get down beside residents as if he is singing the song to them and our residents absolutely love him. Many of our entertainers are fantastic at engaging our residents and really getting them involved, which has fantastic benefits for their overall wellbeing.

It is important to us that our residents lead the lifestyle they want and deserve, and we are only too delighted to enable them to continue with their hobbies, try new things, and meet new people, all whilst receiving the care and support they need to help them do so.
