Pet Therapy Returns for First Time in 18 Months

There is plenty of evidence available which promotes the benefits of pet therapy within care home settings and this is something that has been greatly missed by the residents at Bothwell Castle Care Home during the last 18 months.

To the delight of residents and staff alike Pet Therapy returned to the home today and little Bessie a French Bulldog was welcomed with open arms. Bessie was a total hit as she was taken around the home and introduced to everyone and the smiles and joy she left in her wake were beautiful to witness.

Pet Therapy is well renowned for offering so many physical and mental health benefits in care homes and Bessie’s visit did not disappoint, having prompted lots of happy memories of family times amongst the residents.

Bessie will be returning to Bothwell Castle Care Home and will be joined by some of her canine friends over the coming weeks.
