Nursing Home in South Lanarkshire

Bothwell Castle Care Home is a luxury purpose-built nursing home located in Uddingston, in the Scottish county of South Lanarkshire. We offer a welcoming and supportive environment where up to 75 residents can access outstanding facilities and receive high standards of Nursing, Dementia, Respite, and Residential Care.

We want our nursing home to be a place where our residents can continue doing the things that bring them joy. We are committed to building relationships with our residents, helping them to carry on with their much-loved hobbies and pursue new activities. Whether our residents want to relax in our gardens or go out and explore the local community, we support them entirely in living a happy, active, and social lifestyle.

What is a Nursing Home?

Nursing homes are classified as “care homes,” but they offer a more specialised form of care. Some care facilities may be referred to as “residential nursing homes” or “care homes with nursing,” which simply means that both registered nurses and care assistants provide care and support to residents.

Nursing homes, like residential homes, offer around-the-clock assistance with personal care and medication management, but they are also designed to provide care for people with certain medical illnesses and disabilities. Since there is always at least one registered nurse on duty, residents can feel safe and confident knowing they have access to medical care and nursing support at any time of the day or night, which is beneficial for those who struggle with daily life and require additional support as a result of these conditions.

Care at Bothwell Castle Care Home

Personalised care is the foundation of our approach here at Bothwell Castle Care Home. We invite prospective residents, their family members, and friends to visit our home before moving in and to have a consultation with our experienced members of staff. We then provide our guidance and assistance in choosing the best course of action for you whilst ensuring that we can meet your personal requirements. When a resident then moves into our home, we develop a customised care plan that is tailored to their individual needs. These care plans are continuously checked, and if any modifications are found to be necessary, we first inform our residents and their loved ones before proceeding.

We respect each and every one of our residents for who they are and we recognise that each resident has their own interests and preferences. Every one of our teams goes above and beyond to get to know our residents in order to understand their likes and dislikes. We consider our residents’ choices to enable them to live their life how they want, whether it’s our Activities Team who develops our weekly programmes or our Chef who creates our delectable menus. We are extremely proud of the diverse, welcoming, and encouraging lifestyle we provide, from the different care services we offer to the activities and facilities we have available.

Our Nursing Home in South Lanarkshire

We provide nursing care in South Lanarkshire, in addition to general support for older people and those living with dementia. We also provide specialist care for those with physical disabilities and sensory impairment. No matter why a resident chooses to stay with us or how long they stay, we take great pride in providing the highest standards of care in everything we do.

Appropriately named after its close location to the local tourist attraction, Bothwell Castle, our nursing home is set between the charming communities of Uddingston and Bothwell. Our residents benefit from both these neighbourhoods being only a short distance away and from their various local amenities such as shops, restaurants, cafés, and transport links. Residents of Bothwell Castle can explore our local communities and beyond thanks to our mini-bus and car access. We can accommodate our resident’s personal errands as well as organise day trips for them all to go out and discover the wonderful things South Lanarkshire has to offer.

For those who prefer spending their days enjoying the great outdoors, there are numerous places at Bothwell Castle and in the local area where residents can do just that. Calderglen and Chaterhault Country Parks are both just a short drive away and offer residents excellent opportunities to stroll, get some fresh air and admire nature. Calderglen even has a children’s zoo and play park, making it a great family day out. Our home is also located just a short distance from the centre of Glasgow, a cultural hub where there is something for all ages. Whether it’s a home excursion to The Clydeside Distillery or a family day out to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, our residents are never short of things to see and do.
