Located in a prominent position within the beautiful countryside, our purpose-built care home provides a vibrant way of life combined with exceptional care.

What is Nursing Care?

Nursing care is for older people who require medical and personal care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is most appropriate for individuals who need rehabilitative care, those with physical disabilities and for people who have long-term health issues. We help older people with medical, as well as personal living needs.

At our nursing home in South Lanarkshire, residents have complete access to on-site assistance from nursing professionals, no matter the time of day, making us an excellent choice for people with medical conditions needing around-the-clock care. Residents also have access to a range of facilities and services including beautiful en suite bedrooms, a beauty salon, private gardens, a cinema room and an activities programme to allow residents to pursue their interests.

Nursing Care FAQs

The specific type of nursing care provided can vary, adapting to the unique needs of each individual. However, at Bothwell Castle Care Home, we offer a comprehensive array of nursing services. These services encompass medication management, wound care, assistance with daily activities, and support for individuals dealing with physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and sensory impairments.

In addition, we diligently coordinate care with other healthcare providers to ensure that our residents receive the customised care essential to maintaining their health and overall well-being.

If you notice any of the below, you may need to consider nursing care:

  • Worsening chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, or dementia
  • Difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Recent falls, injuries, hospitalisations or emergency room visits
  • Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
  • Increased confusion or forgetfulness
  • Difficulty managing medications or complying with treatment plans
  • Need for specialised medical equipment or care, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Our nursing team is dedicated to evaluating the necessary level of care and offering guidance on the most suitable care option for you or your loved one. When considering a move to a care home, open communication with your family and involving the individual in need of care in the decision-making process is recommended.

At Bothwell Castle Care Home, we place a high priority on ensuring the safety of our residents. We achieve this by ensuring adequate staffing levels are provided, nursing staff are properly trained and qualified, protocols for infection control and medication management are implemented, and regular safety audits and assessments are carried out. We also put security measures in place to prevent unauthorised access and to protect the safety of our residents.

At Bothwell Castle Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
