Bothwell Castle Celebrates Glad to Care Week

Our care home in Bothwell very much enjoyed taking part in Glad to Care Awareness Week last week, recognising and celebrating those in the care sector for their hard work and dedication to caring for and supporting others.

At Bothwell Castle Care Home, we organised a week of themed activities and celebrations for our staff to show them just how appreciated and valued they are, and to allow both our staff and residents to spend some quality time together.

Motivational Monday

We kick-started our Glad to Care celebrations with 'Motivational Monday' to give our staff a boost of energy for the week of activities and fun ahead.

Our team took to the garden to participate in some light activity, including the 'Slosh' dance which can be watched on our Facebook page here.

Our home was decorated with balloons and the staff were also given chocolate and flowers as a first thank you of the week.

Tasty Tuesday

When 'Tasty Tuesday' arrived, all of our staff were treated to a delicious cooked breakfast to help start their day in a positive way.

The breakfast went down a treat amongst our staff and they were left feeling full and happy.

Wellbeing Wednesday

To support our staff member's wellbeing this 'Wellbeing Wednesday', we provided some healthy snacks to keep the team going throughout the day and some relaxing face masks so that the team could stop and have a few minutes of pampering to themselves.

To top it off, our very own Lorna got everyone to do some light movement, which was great for our team to have a break, do something a little different, and get a burst of energy.

Thanksgiving Thursday

Our residents had all hands on deck creating a banner in one of our arts and craft sessions here at Bothwell Castle Care Home, using flowers and leaves from our gardens. The banner was designed and decorated by our residents and was to show the staff just how much they are appreciated.

Feel Good Friday

To finish off Glad to Care Week, we welcomed some entertainment to our home to perform for us which had our staff members up and dancing, and our residents smiling from ear to ear.

Mocktails were also made for our staff to enjoy in the beautiful weather that we have been having.

Our team at Bothwell Castle Care Home in Motherwell is made up of exceptional carers, and they truly are the backbone of everything that we do here. Each day they come to work and show compassion and companionship, and make a huge difference to our residents' daily lives.

Each carer brings with them their own unique qualities and as a team, they work together, learn from each other and support one another at all times. They demonstrate respect and value each other's differences and we are ever so lucky to have such a fantastic team. A big thank you to Team Bothwell Castle for all their hard work.
