Bringing the Community Together for Charity
At Bothwell Castle Care Home, we’re delighted to share the success of our recent fundraising event in support of Make-A-Wish UK. Staff, residents’ families, and even a few furry friends laced up their trainers to take part in a 10k sponsored walk at Strathclyde Country Park, all to help to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
The event was a wonderful day out for all involved. Walkers of all ages embraced the scenic route around the park, with smiles and laughter filling the air as they worked towards this meaningful cause. We’re thrilled to announce that donations surpassed our initial target of £1,250, a fantastic achievement that will bring hope and joy to families when they need it most.
Liz Brown, our Care Home Manager, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support with donations surpassing the £1,250 target set, bringing hope and joy to families in need. The day was a great reflection of the team spirit at Bothwell Castle and our desire to make a difference.
Supporting a Cause That Changes Lives
Every day, 10 families in the UK face the devastating news that their child has been diagnosed with a critical illness. In those moments, the innocence of childhood is overshadowed by treatments and worry. Make-A-Wish UK helps to restore some of that joy by granting truly life-changing wishes for these children, and we are so proud to partner with such a remarkable organisation.
Charitable initiatives like this one not only support a meaningful cause but also foster a sense of shared purpose and pride within our care home community. By working together, residents, families, and staff experienced the true joy of giving back while building stronger connections with one another.
At Bothwell Castle Care Home, we believe in creating a warm, compassionate environment where everyone feels like part of the family. Supporting causes like Make-A-Wish UK reflects our dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others, both within our home and beyond.
